BAT NIGHT. The night of the bats

When the sun sets and BIOPARC begins to transform, a different experience begins.

BAT NIGHT It invites us to discover one of the most fascinating and unknown groups of mammals in our environment: bats. An afternoon and evening to leave myths behind, see the darkness with new eyes, and approach their world through observation, exploration, play, and technology.

With the help of specialists and the BIOPARC Valencia educational team, we will learn how they live, how they orient themselves, what role they play in ecosystems and why their conservation is so important.

And when night falls, we'll go out to look for them.

BAT NIGHT is produced in collaboration with People's Bank and the funds raised through this activity are allocated to the BIOPARC Foundationcontributing to their nature conservation projects.

Educational activity led by specialists and aimed at the general public from 8 years of age.

Discover the world of bats

How do they find their way in the dark? What do they eat? Where do they take refuge? Are all the stories we've heard about them true?

We will begin with a dynamic and participatory presentation to discover how bats live and the important role they play in ecosystems.

Then we will put what we have learned to the test with a quiz by teams and familiesIn this episode, we'll answer questions, discover interesting facts, and debunk some of the most widespread myths about these animals.

Observe, investigate, and experiment.

Through an exploration table we can approach its study using different resources: naturalized specimens, guano samples observed with magnifying glasses, models and other educational materials.

We will also learn about the bat boxesWe will discover what they are for and how they can contribute to promoting the presence of these animals.

Children will also be able to participate in different practical and creative activities related to bats.

Immersive virtual reality experience

We will delve into the world of bats for a few minutes through an immersive virtual reality experience, which will allow us to explore a cave and approach the life of these nocturnal animals in a different way.

When night falls we will take a tour of BIOPARC Valencia.

With ultrasound detectorsWe will transform the signals emitted by bats into audible sounds and try to locate their activity as they fly over the park in search of food.
