The areas of such emblematic species as lions, elephants, meerkats, gorillas and chimpanzees have woken up full of surprises and gifts from Santa Claus.
This Christmas is going to be very different for everyone and some traditions have had to adapt to continue happening. In this sense, this morning in BIOPARC Santa Claus brought back the illusion of Christmas to deliver their gifts to the animals of the Valencian park. With the aim of ensuring safety and health by avoiding the congregation of people, unlike other years, on this occasion the public call that brought together hundreds of families to see the expected moment has not been made. In this way, the surprise was enormous when the visitors to the park, among whom were many children enjoying their first day of school holidays, they have been able contemplate the visit of Santa Claus and the reactions of the different animal species when receiving the gifts that they hid “toys” and their favorite foods.
The activity began early in the morning, with surprise arrival of Santa Claus to the enclosure of the lions where he has carefully deposited the “succulent” gifts. Later she has gone to the areas of meerkats, elephants, gorillas and chimpanzees. In each of them she has left colorful packages that the animals have opened to discover what was hidden inside. Visitors have been able to contemplate the different behavior of each species before the festival of “strange” objects with smells and flavors that awakened your senses.
Some showed their astonishment, others eagerly opened the packaging and there have also been experiences unforgettable moments with the tenderness of the chimpanzee “babies” Coco and Djibril or the baby gorilla Pepe, and his brothers Félix, Virunga and Ebo. Many people have shown their gratitude for being able to attend this special event which, in addition, represents a environmental enrichment which is included among the actions for ensure maximum animal welfare.
BIOPARC Valencia begins these endearing and family days remembering with each action the need to raise awareness about conservation and responsible behaviors towards the care of nature. Today, when contemplating how animals interacted with each other, many people felt that there are many more things that bring us closer to the animal world than those that separate us from it.
