Two “champion” athletes give their support to the 4th BIOPARC Solidarity Herd Race this election Sunday

The Olympian Concha Montaner and the Spanish champion María Peinado wanted to encourage participation in this original event “to run with the family” that is celebrated this Sunday the 26th.

Two renowned athletes, Concha Montaner Coll and María Peinado Bravo, wanted to support the 4th BIOPARC Valencia Herd Race. Concha has won a gold medal in the long jump at the Spanish Indoor Championships in 2015, seven-time Spanish outdoor champion and nine-time national indoor champion and a bronze medalist in the indoor track at the World Cup in Moscow in 2006. In addition, she has participated in the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000, Beijing 2008 and London 2012 and was runner-up in the European indoor championship in Birmingham 2007. And María is the queen of the combined events: in heptathlon she was proclaimed absolute Spanish Champion in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 and also in pentathlon he has won 6 consecutive years, from 2000 to 2005, the absolute Spanish Indoor Championship.

The profits obtained will go to a Conservation Project of the Jane Goodall Institute between Senegal and Guinea through the BIOPARC Foundation.

Both athletes have posed with the official T-shirt of the Race in Manada in a moment of rest from their training as a way to support this test whose purpose, more than competitive, is participatory and supportive and which in this edition will allocate the benefits obtained to the Jane Goodal Institute to carry out the “Creation and restoration of ecological corridors between Senegal and Guinea: Nandoumary Valley restoration project”

As registration ends this Wednesday the 22nd, in addition to these elite athletes, we also wanted to join this "last call” a Valencian family who has participated in the 3 previous tests and who, of course, is already registered for this 4th Edition.

The Race will take place this Sunday June 26 at 9 a.m., with the start at the Jardín del Turia Athletics Stadium and the finish at BIOPARC. It has a route of 5 km and another of 2 km thinking about the capabilities of the little ones.

The registration through web page www.bioparcvalencia.es o in person at the El Corte Inglés centers from Nuevo Centro, Avenida de Francia and Pintor Sorolla until June 22.
