The College of Veterinarians (ICOVV) presented the campaign today at BIOPARC Valencia “The Veterinarian always by your side.”
The presentation event was attended by the General Director of Agriculture, Branches and Fisheries of the Department of Agriculture, Medi Ambient, Canvi Climàtic i Desenvolupament Rural, Roger Llanes, the Health Councilor of the Valencia City Council, Maite Girau, the President of ICOVV, Francisco Beltrán, as well as
General Director of Agriculture, Branch and Fisheries of the Conselleria, Roger Llanes, the Councilor for Health of the Valencia City Council, Maite Girau, of the ICOVV, Francisco Beltrán and Luís Ángel Martínez, General Director of BIOPARC.
And in their interventions they have all agreed to highlight the role of veterinarians in such diverse and little-known roles, such as sanitation on livestock farms, their local powers in the health inspection of food centers or, in the last case, their "key" performance ” in favor of animal welfare.
Luís Ángel Martínez has explained that “only from the vocation is it possible to work in a context of complexity like that of BIOPARC” in which veterinarians and the team of caregivers have to work in two large areas: one related to health and care management. of animals of more than 160 different species and another their participation in the reproduction programs of threatened species that are carried out in the park and that represent a clear commitment to the conservation of biodiversity.
The ICOVV campaign consists of a video that highlights this multifaceted professional character that is intended to go viral on social networks, as well as a poster and brochures that will be distributed in veterinary clinics and collaborating entities: Conselleria d'Agricultura, Medi Ambient, Canvi Climàtic i Desenvolupament Rural (and its network of regional offices, Ocapas) and that of Sanitat Universal, as well as in health centers, professional associations and Veterinary Faculties throughout Spain.
