Friday, April 19, 2013. Bioparc Valencia dedicates this month at amphibians on the occasion of the annual campaign "Your 10 wishes for Hope".

It has recently been inaugurated in the Kitum Cave, a new space in which you can contemplate 6 terrariums that They recreate the double life of amphibians. These are wonderful and unknown beings that They live between water and land and, in this installation, you can see up to 8 species different, among which the African bullfrog stands out for its large size (Pyxicephalus adspersus) and the blue arrow poison frogs (Dendrobates azureus) and the ghost (Epipedobates tricolor) for its bright colors.

For those who have not yet visited this new area, this weekend is an ideal time to do so. Bioparc's education department has prepared a special programming with recreational and educational activities for all audiences and, especially, for the little ones in the house. The objective is to transmit and explain the importance of these animals, their worrying threat status and how to help their survival.

The activities will begin from the 11h. They will be carried out crafts and games and mini gymkhana “Live like an amphibian” in which children will put themselves in the skin of frogs and they will tour Bioparc solving tests. As a result of the activities, all the good wishes made by the children will be collected to preserve the amphibians in the Baobab of wishes.

Amphibians have characteristics that make them especially interesting and important for this reason. its conservation is essential. Its source of cures for diseases since they release hundreds of substances of pharmacological interest and in addition, they also act as environmental quality indicators as your permeable skin allows contaminants to easily penetrate your body. They also take on the role of natural insecticides since they maintain the balance of ecosystems as predators.

To facilitate access to the park and participate in these activities or meet the calves born this spring, Bioparc Valencia offers a fee of €15 during weekends until May 31. A unique way to enjoy the arrival of good weather at a very special price.
