9th parade of abandoned dogs organized to encourage adoptions.
With the motto “Adoption is the best gift,” this pre-Christmas parade aims to find a family for many abandoned dogs and raise awareness about the commitment it means to incorporate an animal, with the call “Give me a home for life.”
El Sunday December 18 At 12 noon in the outside plaza of the park and open to the public, the 9th parade AUPA/BIOPARC solidarity to enhance the adoption of abandoned dogs. This pre-Christmas edition has become a classic in Valencia and, on these dates, has a double objective: to emphasize the wonderful gift of adopting a dog and, at the same time, raise awareness that you cannot give a dog as a gift. as if it were an object.

These days it is especially important draw attention to the responsibility of giving a pet as a gift and this is what we wanted to highlight with some striking posters in which various dogs, which in most cases have been cruelly abandoned, make a request “Give me a home for life”. Sadly, underlying many stories of abandonment is the consideration of a dog as a “thing” that, after its puppy stage, becomes a burden and a nuisance. It is therefore absolutely necessary to encourage reflection before deciding to integrate a dog into our family.
On the contrary, society is evolving and in recent years acts of solidarity can be seen in many areas. In this sense, taking as a reference AUPA (Adopt an Abandoned Dog) as a protection and care center and BIOPARC as an awareness platform, we want to go further to stimulate this change in attitude. In a time where the “gift” takes on special prominence, it is proposes adoption or the gift of an abandoned dog as a particularly committed action.
Stories like those of blaky, Casper, Caprice o Nina and many other dogs that awaken our compassion and to which we can give a second chance and turn the Christmas gift into an extraordinary gift for both of us, full of charity and empathy. A gift that these extraordinary animals will give us back full of unconditional love and fidelity.
The parade of abandoned dogs is also a meeting point for people and families who adopted in previous editions, who explain their experience to others who have not yet taken the step. This solidarity event open to all was born more than 4 years ago. two organizations committed to animal welfare and it has been a source of satisfaction for all those who have participated and the opportunity for many dogs to find a home where they can share affection and tenderness.
