The celebration of Arbor Day at Bioparc becomes a symbol to try to give back to the forests some of the much that they provide us every day.
Bioparc has chosen two great species, camphor tree y Cinnamon, which are already part of the park's vegetation. Both evergreen, the Camphor tree is a large tree, long-lived, with dense and persistent foliage that provides good shade and the Cinnamomum has a high altitude, reaching about 10 meters.
Two Valencian sports figures have collaborated on the plantation, Stefan Markovic and AJ Ogilvy, components of the 1st team of the Valencia Basket, who plays an important match in Prague today. And the boys and girls from the 2nd ESO class of the Iale School in Valencia, as representatives of the Valencian schoolchildren.
The schoolchildren enjoyed a full day at Bioparc, with a guided tour of all areas and also the Educational Exhibition. They have followed the special routes for the recognition of plant species, through the collection of dichotomous keys that are placed in different points of Bioparc. And they also participated in a special cuttings workshop.

With the aim of raising awareness about the need to conserve the environment, Bioparc wanted to celebrate this anniversary that was initially a recommendation of the World Forestry Congress that was held in Rome in 1969. This advice was accepted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 1971. Date from which It is celebrated to remind us of the importance of preserving natural habitats and specifically tree species throughout the planet.
