After an intense week of activities, games and, above all, great learning about the animal world and caring for the environment, the little “explorers” culminate the week with the experience of spending the night in an authentic African camp.
school holidays, for the little ones, are synonymous with new and great experiences, some that they will always remember. Of friendship and shared fun, of learning different from what they have at school but equally important for their development. Teaching values, getting to know other people and cultures and, in many cases, spending the first days and nights “away” from home. In short, days to enjoy the summer weather and unique moments.
“Africa Expedition” by BIOPARC Valencia It has become a classic among “leisure” proposals for vacations, with the addition highly valued by families that it is “leisure with a cause”, where education and fun go hand in hand. And among all the activities carried out, without a doubt, the most anticipated comes on Fridays, when the “explorers” prepare to “sleep in the savannah”, an unforgettable experience with the amazing nocturnal gymkhana with which they will tour the park in the dark. Action that begins by setting up an entire camp with tents in the BIOPARC amphitheater to spend the night under the warm light of the July moon.
This year's summer school programming will be extended until July 20, where boys and girls between 5 and 12 years old can choose between the option of a week or fifteen days to feel surrounded by wild nature. Under the theme “Journey to the lost kingdoms”, different weekly contents are organized with “The kingdom of the lion” where they discover the most extraordinary animals of the savannah and “The kingdom of the dragon” with an adventure full of magic and fantastic beings.
During these days you have already been able to feel yourself in the heart of Africa, helping caregivers and BIOPARC experts in some of its tasks, including the feeding of species as different as lemurs, meerkats, porcupines or lions. And they have also been able to verify the difficulty oftend animals such as crocodiles or the “rare” oricteropos. Thus, they have been excited to access internal areas of the park, until now unknown to them, where they have seen the importance of the work that guarantees the well-being of all the animals. Also the game plays a prominent role, where water takes center stage to cool off during the hottest moments of the day. Likewise, excursions and outings are carried out to influence knowledge of environmental issues such as a visit to the Climate Change Observatory or other “non-wild” animals such as those found on farms or pets.

Overall, it is a proposal of great interest, both by the participants and their families, with a compendium of children's fun and teachings that are offered in such a special environment, an acceptance that is reflected in the fact that it is very common for boys and girls to repeat their particular "Africa Expedition".
