Emotional “happy endings” at the 19th Parade of abandoned dogs AUPA – BIOPARC Foundation

Hundreds of people have come to the outdoor plaza of the Valencian park to attend this event of commitment to animal welfare.

With the hope of returning to the “in-person” format, this Sunday the outdoor plaza of BIOPARC Valencia once again hosted the traditional pre-christmas parade to adopt an abandoned dog, organized by the BIOPARC Foundation and the AUPA protector. In an environment of respect and love for animals, it has been done emphasis on the responsibility of incorporating a pet into our home, especially on these dates when it is worth remembering that You cannot “give” animals as if they were toys.

Accompanied by an audience totally dedicated and committed to animal welfare, very emotional moments have been witnessed. Some “infatuations” between people and dogs that open hope for those “happy endings”.

Dogs like the energetic Mario, which opened the parade; the elegant Socks; Juli and Carita, who were rescued together; either Nior, which was abandoned tied to a tree in the mountains in full confinement. Each one aroused the admiration and, above all, the enthusiasm of the little ones, who caressed them as they passed. Some of the attendees wanted share their feelings when “falling in love” with dogs, as happened with Berta.

Among the dogs that have left today for a hopeful life with their new family, there are cases as emotional as that of Flame, about 11 or 12 years old who was abandoned and bravely saved from drowning. It should also be noted that, thanks to the mobilization and dissemination of these solidarity actions, some dogs have been adopted in the days prior to the parade. So, Lolita, Curls, Nala or Rex They already enjoy the warmth of a home.

Likewise, the objective of protective AUPA. is that the adoptions are a success, for which it is necessary that both the animal and the humans find themselves perfectly in this new family union. In this sense, appointments are being made for the next few days, as many other dogs have aroused great interest.

This solidarity event was born more than 9 years ago from two organizations committed to animal welfare AUPA (Adopt An Abandoned Dog) and BIOPARC Foundation. Since then, each edition brings together volunteers from the shelter, people interested in adopting and families who have already taken the step in other years, to draw attention to the responsibility of having a pet and to emphasize that adopting a dog and give him that “second chance” and a home for life, is the best gift to give on these dates, as long as it is a completely thoughtful and consistent decision.
