Bioparc has been the meeting center for dogs of all sizes and ages, sports people, families with children or friends, each at their own pace, everyone has enjoyed collaborating in the same cause, helping animals.

Saturday, October 5, 2013. This morning the 1st Popular Race of the city organized by BIOPARC Valencia and ARCADYS, in which nearly 300 people participated. Valencian society has responded excellently before this initiative of solidarity character, which aims to draw attention to the need to respect and care for animals.
From the first hour people began to arrive, all accompanied by their faithful canine pet. At 9 in the morning, after the starting gun, the most athletic ones formed the first rows, while others took it more calmly, since the important thing was to participate.
They have been part of this “popular festival” people of all ages and hobbies, from athletes, who usually run with their pet, even families with their children, couples, groups of friends or neighbors. All of them united by a common goal, to celebrate World Animal Day. and raise funds for animal conservation programs Bioparc Foundation.
The Can-rrera has been very eye-catching, especially the image of hundreds of runners and their dogs crossing the Bioparc walkway over the Cabecera park. This innovative initiative has surprised the early risers who were in the surrounding area and has caught the attention of many people who, along the route, encouraged the participants.
The fastest have completed the 3 kilometer route in a time of just over 10 minutes. The winners have been:

- 1st Classified: Juan Mari Lujambio Puy and his dog Txopo with a time of 0:12.55.0.
- 2nd Classified: Timoteo Maestro Moyá and his dog Bel.la with a time of 0:12.59.9.
- 3st Classified: Francisco Javier Official Casado and his dog Tyson with a time of 0:13.26.5.

General + children's category:
- 1st Classified: Juan Luís Carrasco Gómez, Pablo Carrasco Jareño and their dog Pope with a time of 0:16.48.7.
- 2nd Classified: Raquel Huelamo Vara, Lara Layunta Huelamo and their dog Bella with a time of 0:20.35.0.
- 3st Classified: Alejandro Gregori Valencia, Bernardo Gregori Bernabéu and their dog Max with a time of 0:21.49.0.
In a symbolic way, several dogs in need of a home from the Adopta Un Perro Abandonado Association have participated in the Can-rrera (AUPA) and of the NGO Intervention, Aid and Emergencies, who have subsequently also shown their skills in the search and rescue of people.
Throughout the morning the Bioparc square has been a great party, which has brought together a large audience to enjoy the annual and Participatory Agility Exhibition, offered by Marina Sebastian Cañellas (Ethologist-Educator), or the Urban Education Classes taught by Jorge Bergara, from the Camp de Turia Dog Residence.
All registrants have received a commemorative shirt and many people have contributed their grain of sand with the Dorsal 0 which will remain open through the Bioparc website throughout the weekend for all those who want to make their contributions.
This first Can-rrera has had the collaboration of the Valencian generalitat, Valencia City Hall, Carrefour, CocaCola, College of Veterinarians of Valencia, Valencia Basket, the protector WOW, Belcando dog food and Marc-Martí. In addition, the following media have supported the dissemination of the event: RTVV, Levante TV, Lift-EMV, El Mundo, El País, COPE Valencia Chain, Cadena Ser, Onda Cero, Europe FM, the 97.7 y Bussi Channel.
