Different species of animals have enjoyed different environmental enrichments on the occasion of Halloween.
Today BIOPARC held a “Very animal Halloween” in which different species have found varied surprises in their outdoor enclosures: colors, smells and flavors different from other days. His caregivers had prepared special environmental enrichments with pumpkins stuffed with your favorite delicacies and themed decorations for your entertainment.
Chimpanzees, gorillas, drills and lemurs had pumpkins with eyes filled with muesli, honey and fruit. The meerkats, stuffed with worms and minced meat; the lions, with different red meat and blood. And the elephants had various types of forage accompanying large branches and gourds.
Other animals such as hippos, leopards, buffaloes or potamoqueros have also enjoyed surprises in this “Wild Halloween”. The numerous visitors have been able to observe the variability of reactions depending on each animal and its hierarchical place in the group, its age or differences according to sex.

They aim to awaken the instincts of animals and allow the public to get closer in a playful way to species whose survival is threatened. They are experiences that visitors do not forget and that favor the ultimate goal of raising awareness about the need to care for and protect the environment.
