Due to the European Green Capital, after having been exhibited within the framework of COP28 in the United Arab Emirates, this exhibition arrives from New York to Valencia, representing a testimony of Climate Change through striking images of great beauty. BIOPARC inaugurates a new multidisciplinary space with this work to which the author has dedicated more than two decades, visiting more than 30 countries on all seven continents to make visible the causes and consequences of the anthropogenic climate crisis.

The park has opened a new location in the entrance plaza with The Melting Age, a photographic exhibition of great beauty that can be visited for free from 12 noon to 20 p.m. until July 21.

“Will we exploit our planet as we do now until it breathes its last?” With this question Alfons Rodríguez began this idea that is now reflected in 77 snapshots grouped into 7 themes to show what is happening, what we can gain and what we can lose, in order to provoke a change in attitude and act now. The author has a long professional career, with prestigious awards and his photographs have been published in the most relevant media such as National Geographic Magazine, The New York Times, El País, Geo, The Courier, El Mundo or Vogue.

At the BIOPARC access plaza, until July 21, every day with uninterrupted hours from 12 noon to 20 p.m. and with free entry, all interested people can learn about this work, which also has the option to delve deeper into the content using QR codes.

Among the subjects discussed in both the photographs and the audiovisual is the loss of biodiversity, an aspect of great relevance when the scientific community warns about the Sixth mass extinction.

The Melting Age in Valencia European Green Capital

En este sentido, Another of the purposes of BIOPARC is the conservation of species in serious danger of disappearing., work that is carried out with the participation of about 50 international endangered species programs and by the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of Spain with the BIOPARC Foundation acting on the habitats of origin. In short, in a year in which Valencia is European Green Capital, with the union of what is considered one of the best animal parks in the world and the global proposal of The Melting Age, it is possible to point out the harsh reality that humanity faces. And, at the same time, through high-quality actions, with attractive stimuli capable of moving, an optimistic final message is conveyed to call for action, since we still have time to change the future and it is in our hands to achieve it.
