A symbol of hope for his subspecies in serious danger of extinction, the chimpanzee Coco celebrates his 2nd anniversary today surrounded by his family.
The small Coco chimpanzee was born 2 years ago within the reproductive group of the subspecies Pan troglodytes verus, serious danger of extinction and priority in the European conservation program in which the BIOPARC, of Valencia and Fuengirola, have a prominent role. In this sense, we can consider this birth “a symbol of hope” for its subspecies. And this week is especially important for the conservation world, since July 14 marks World Chimpanzee Day, the date on which Jane Goodall set foot for the first time in what is now Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania. In addition, 2020 marks 60 years since that trip that began the important research that radically changed the conception of these animals with which we share most of our DNA. And, with this, also began the legend of this “great lady of the chimpanzees” who continues to give “reasons for hope” and mobilize so that we live in harmony with the rest of the living beings on our planet. The BIOPARC Foundation collaborates with the Jane Goodall Institute in Africa on outstanding conservation projects on-site.
Tonight “Las Dinners in the Sabana” begins with great success with full reservations for this first weekend.
Also tonight begins a BIOPARC's innovative proposal for this summer, "Dinners in the Savannah”. With the park already closed to visitors, on Fridays and Saturdays until August 29, we can enjoy on the terraces of the Samburu restaurant an experience to be lived with all five senses. A tasting menu designed by the outstanding Chef of the BIOPARC Acuario de Gijón restaurant, Lara Roguez, in an exclusive and original environment that has been widely accepted, since all reservations have been completed for this first weekend.
One month after the reopening, the promotion ends this Sunday with tickets at a special price of 20 euros for general tickets and 15 euros for children.
BIOPARC Valencia reopened its doors a month ago with a promotion that offers a special ticket price of 20 euros for the general ticket and 15 euros for children and which can be taken advantage of until this Sunday the 19th. In these first 30 days of “reunion” visitors have been able to feel the emotion of contemplating wild nature, with the extraordinary vegetation of the park and, above all, meeting the babies born in the babyboom.
BIOPARC is a responsible leisure space, with outdoor nature facilities, offering a safe and healthy place with all the new hygiene requirements. And let us remember that for all those who wish to visit BIOPARC frequently, different modalities are available with Deals for families like Manada Pass from €26,6 for children and €35 for general tickets for a whole year. A way to commit to this project that is the heritage of all Valencians and support the conservation of endangered species.
