This Thursday, September 28, the registration period ends to participate in this charity test organized by BIOPARC and ARCADYS on the occasion of World Animal Day.

This Thursday at 22 p.m. the deadline to register for the 5th Can-rrera ends Popular of Valencia. It is done online at this link. The price is €6 per person and there is the possibility of participating symbolically through the Dorsal 0 option. All people will receive a commemorative t-shirt and scarf for the runner and the dog respectively, as well as gifts from collaborators.

Next Sunday, October 1, the Can-rrera will begin as every year at 9 a.m. with a maximum time of 50 minutes to travel 3 km. of urban nature located between BIOPARC and Parque de Cabecera, where teams made up of dogs and people compete. The test has 2 categories: female and male and minors must run with an adult to accompany them.

This pioneering initiative in Valencia was born from the hand of BIOPARC and ARCADYS (Animal Defense and Protection Association) and is always celebrated on the first Sunday of the month coinciding with the commemoration of the World Animal Day which takes place on October 4, since the objective is to draw attention to this anniversary. For this reason also The Councilor for Animal Welfare of the Valencia City Council, Glòria Tello, has “put on the shirt” because, in addition to being a sporting, popular and recreational event, it is an event committed to animals.

This year the profits will go to the Rhino Dog Squad Project through BIOPARC Foundation. An initiative for the equipment and training of the “Rhinoceros Canine Squadron”, promoted by the organization Save The Rhino International. It is a team of dogs and their trainers, carefully trained to protect the very few white rhinos left on the planet, against the threat of poachers.

And once again the Paralympic athlete and godfather of the Can-rrera David Casinos He wanted to be at BIOPARC to also “wear the shirt” with his inseparable Farala and call to raise awareness and commit society to animal welfare and especially with dogs, emphasizing the responsibility that comes with having a pet.
